The purpose of the Professional Development Grants for Individual Artists is to provide a source of financial assistance to enable Pinellas County artists to take advantage of personal growth opportunities and/or advance their work and careers through class or workshop tuition, travel, equipment, facilities, materials and supplies, or presentation costs. An objective of the Cultural Plan is to “value and assist artists and creative workers as fundamental to a vibrant community.” The grant offers an award of $1,000 through an application and competitive selection process. Grant fund awards are administered as reimbursable expenses with documentation of expenditures.
All visual, performing, literary and media artists residing in Pinellas County are eligible to apply, however, artists who have received a Professional Development Grant within the last three years are ineligible.

Pinellas County Cultural Affairs Department Announces 2008 - 2009 Artist Grant Awards
The Pinellas County Cultural Affairs Department is pleased to announcethat 20 Pinellas County artists have been selected to receive funds totaling $19, 745 from the Professional Development Individual Artist Grant program. A professional panel representing each artistic discipline, along with a representative from the Cultural Council, evaluated the applications and recommended funding that was approved by the Council on November 20, 2008. The grant awards are for amounts up to $1,000 and the program is designed to provide financial assistance for projects that advance or enhance the professional development of Pinellas County artists. more
