One of the most visible programs of Pinellas County Cultural Affairs is the Public Art & Design Program, the purpose of which is to enhance the quality of life for Pinellas County residents as well as to support tourism and the economic vitality of Pinellas County through the enrichment of public spaces.
Pinellas County adopted a Percent for Public Art ordinance that requires a percentage of major capital improvement projects’ cost be set aside for public art. This program is overseen by Pinellas County’s Public Art & Design Committee, a group of arts professionals, architects, government officials and citizens.
The Public Art & Design Program is organized and administered through Pinellas County Cultural Affairs. For further information please contact the Public Art and Design Program Director at (727) 453-7869.
