The Water Pigs

water pigsPinellas County Cultural Affairs is very pleased to collaborate with the Southwest Florida Water Management District and Pinellas County Utilities to present STAGES Productions of The Water Pigs for the 2007 - 2008 school year. Last year's performances of The Water Pigs in elementary schools throughout the county were received with great delight and enthusiasm by faculty and students alike. By using interactive theater performances to introduce and reinforce scientific concepts regarding water use, water conservation and the environment to school children in grades K - 5, these concepts are brought to life in an entertaining and meaningful way.

The Water Pigs is an original thirty-minute musical that explores water conservation through the eyes of a family of stubborn pigs and one very famous wolf. The activity sheets and teacher guides that accompany the production are well-written, correlated to Sunshine State Standards and are easily integrated into the curriculum of the elementary classroom.

Thanks to the generosity of Pinellas County Utilities and the Southwest Florida Water Management District, the performances and teacher guides are underwritten and presented at no cost to schools in Pinellas County.
